Students who want to pursue a career in law can now apply online for admission to various colleges and universities for admission to Under-Graduate (LL.B) and Post-Graduate (LL.M) Degree Programmes conducted by the Gujarat National Law University from January 1, 2014.

The 14 National Law Universities/Institutes that are part of the CLAT-2014 are:

  2. NALSAR University of Law (NALSAR), Hyderabad
  3. The National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal
  4. The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata
  5. National Law University (NLU), Jodhpur
  6. Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur
  7. Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar
  8. Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow
  9. Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala
  10. Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna
  11. The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi
  12. National Law University  Odisha (NLUO), Cuttack
  13. National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi
  14. National Law University and Judicial Academy (NLUJA), Assam, Guwahati.
Examination for the Common Law Admission Test 2014 (CLAT) will be held on May 11, 2014 (Sunday) from 3 pm to 5 pm.
The Admission Test will be conducted at 21 cities which include the cities of the 14 participating Universities and 7 other cities including Jaipur, Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Jammu and Siliguri.

The CLAT-2014 Question Paper for UG courses shall have multiple choice type questions carrying a maximum of 200 marks and the test will be of 2 hours duration.

CLAT 2014 Exam Pattern :
Total No. of Questions: 200     Total Marks: 200
  1. English including Comprehension - 40 Questions (40 Marks)
  2. General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 50 Questions (50 Marks)
  3. Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) - 20 Questions (20 Marks)
  4. Legal Aptitude - 50 Questions (50 Marks)
  5. Logical Reasoning - 40 Questions (40 Marks)

Negative Marking: 0.25 Mark/wrong answer

There shall be a system of negative marking wherein 0.25 mark will be deducted for each of the wrong answers.
